To be have this beautiful dog in their
home
In 2005 – the fantastic
four a.k.a. Margaret, Steve, Eric & Natalie went to see the real deal – we
visited

The Kampis & Sasko (Quosh’s
brother)
Eric Herson’s purpose in acquiring a dog with such an impeccable
character was to further the working abilities of the German Shepherd Dog in
anticipation of the S.V. ruling and introduction of the temperament test prior
to survey. His enthusiastic approach to all forms of training is a joy to
behold.
The Orange

In 2007 Eric bestowed
an incredible birthday gift to me, Quosh.
What a super surprise,
a super dog from a super friend.

Retired Sydney National – 2007

In April 2008, our
beautiful boy was diagnosed with cancer.
He had surgery to
remove a 3.5kg tumour after much soul-searching and
discussions with the vets and oncologists
we decided to give him a
chance by scheduling chemotherapy even though we were very skeptical
we said Quosh’s happiness
had to be paramount.
As always he came
through with flying colours.
He was a star for the
breed at Murdoch and never once did he show any signs of not wanting to go
We would put on his
“Cancer Bandana” and he would trot off with his favourite nurses
–
almost like a “play date”.
In October he was
presented to Herr Seifert at our West Coast Challenge event
he went out and performed
that one last time in the ring.
Herr Seifert had known
Quosh as a young pup, owned his parents at one stage
and he had surveyed
Quosh in
He was thrilled to see
him again and it was hugs all round.
Only our closest
friends were aware that Quosh had been sick.
People must have
wondered why it was so emotional for us
as he ran around to the
song “You’re my Best Friend”
What a tribute to this
outstanding dog.
Our thanks to go to Steve Metcalfe, Peter Briggs and staff
at the Applecross Vet Clinic,
Dr Ken Wyatt and the
and support in helping to keep our boy well for
those extra 36 weeks. Those precious weeks that enabled us to love him more and have him well for Christmas & New Year.
You see by these
photographs how happy and healthy he was

Christmas 2008

Then January 8th he left this life for a better one,
As Elvis sang “Lord this time you gave me a mountain” his soul
slipped away.
He left behind a very sad “Red Dog”, his soulmate
and playmate – she grieves for him daily
and spends most of her day in all of his
favourite places.
Rest well our darling Quosh – no dog was ever more loved than you
You are with us as we sleep and when we wake.
We all love and miss you – wait patiently at the “bridge” in a
blink of an eye we will be together again.
